If you are going to appear in Court, please arrive at the West Monroe City Court, 2303 N 7th St, West Monroe, at least 30 minutes prior to court starting. For the safety of the public and our employees, some extra precautions are in place.
RULES OF THE WEST MONROE CITY COURT
1: ATTIRE IN THE COURTROOM
Modest apparel will be worn.
NO tank tops, halters, shorts, flip-flops, or inappropriate headware.
Shirt tails will be tucked in at all times.
Pants will be pulled up to the hip line at all times.
Belts and suspenders will be properly secured.
No inappropriate wearing of jewelry (i.e. lip or brow studs, nose rings, etc.)
2: ORDER AND DECORUM IN THE COURTROOM
No talking in the courtroom.
Noisy children will be removed from the courtroom.
When appearing before the Judge, stand erect with arms at your sides.
NO unnecessary movement in and out of the courtroom.
Everyone must be seated.
3: ITEMS NOT ALLOWED IN THE COURTROOM
WEAPONS OF ANY KIND!
Cell phones and pagers are to be turned off in the courtroom (NO texting).
Food, drinks, or chewing gum.
Magazines, books, or newspapers while court is in session.
Video equipment, tape or digital recorders, or cameras.
